Lost...

This week on Illustration Friday the theme is "Lost"...

Last week I decided that if I did another Illustration Friday image then I would try to do it with Bison in some way, so here's what I came up with;

As Bison is the only Magical Bison in his herd, this is him lost among his family of regular bison. This image is in Doom, [Bison's home] which roughly resembles parts of America! Some keen readers of my Blog may also recognise the rock formation in the background...

My second image is Bison on the island from the popular [yet horiffically dissapointing] TV series LOST! I used to be an avid viewer of LOST, so I just had to do this image...
as you can only do one Illustration Friday image per week though this is an added bonus image for anyone who has decided to follow Bison back to my Blog!

Merry Friday!

Firm Fiora...

As some of you may remember I have been on and off making a clay model of a game character called Fiora Cavazza.

This was sort of halted a while back when I found my Sculpey/ my manikin was not strong enough to hold her upright and my hands were erasing details because they can get freakishly warm...

And so, I purchased some Sculpey Firm, and I have to say it is awesome stuff! It is a pleasure to sculpt and once details are on is firm enough to keep them there, even with my radiator hands!

This is what I have so far, there is more to come:

Suspend...

One of my friends introduced me to a site called Illustration Friday where every Friday they update the site with a new word or phrase and invite people to illustrate something based on the themed word, this weeks word was "Suspend"...

If you are one of my regular readers, you may recognise the floating furry fellow in this image, if not you may not...

May I introduce, or re-introduce you to the Magical Bison of Doom!

One of Bison's many traits is travelling suspended by helium filled balloons...

He's a character I started drawing just over 2 years ago, and since has become a custom made bookmark, a series of cards and a soft toy [pictures of the toy on this Blog]...

To any new readers, may I welcome you, have a browse, make yourself at home!

I drew this picture for my girlfriend for her Birthday when I also had her childhood soft toy dog Clubby repaired, and that's who the noodle-eating chap is on the left!

When I saw this weeks theme I had to post this as I had recently coloured it in and finished it off...

I hope you all enjoy it!

As a sidenote to my current readers, my Fiora Cavazza model has halted for now, and I am re-making it with Sculpey Firm, which is amazing stuff... I will have more posts and images on that soon!

A very quick post now as it's 11:30 at night and I have work tomorrow...

I have just finished one of many mini-projects, an image for a Gladiator game by Mik Hollands, here's the pencil image:

And here's the finished piece!

Now I'm off to have nightmares about shading lions!

Enjoy!

More posts coming soon on my other on-going conquests...

Fiora Update

Though it is not a radical change, it is an important one... since posting my last piece on my Fiora model I realised that the face was in dire need of change (even more than I thought at the time), so I set about making it as much like the real Fiora as possible...

Here is the result:

I am currently also working on a Gladiator illustration which I will post as soon as I get the pencil work done!

Fiora Cavazza.

If you have never played Assassin's Creed, or if you have played it but haven't ever bothered researching into it in ridiculous detail then the name Fiora Cavazza will mean very little to you...

Fiora is a character in Assassin's Creed who is playable during multiplayer, it has a small bio next to the character selection page, but a larger history is available in a set of short stories called Assassin's Creed Project Lineage...

When I first read Lineage I planned to illustrate some of the stories as a comic book, which I started and is now buried in a cupboard... I still wanted to do something related, and so I decided to whip out the Sculpey and try to make a scale model of Ms. Cavazza.

I started by making a mannequin from crumpled foil and then layering this with Sculpey...

Once I had the Sculpey covering the mannequin I made some of the clothing for the torso, making sure to keep one hand free to hold a fan (Fiora's choice of weapon is a blade-tipped fan) before realising my fatal flaw... she is right handed...

So... after making some monumental changes the arms were corrected... I started working on the frills of the sleeves, the fabric of the shirt and general posture, plus refining the legs a bit as at this current moment they resemble the Thing...

This is how she currently looks, there is still a lot of work to be done, but that's the beauty of Sculpey... you can leave it in a drawer and come back to it in three weeks and it's fine!

In the mean-time, I have a few other projects going on which I will post here soon!

Here's some links to the ongoing project:

Lazy Red's Blueberry Gin

My family has an old Sloe Gin recipe that has been passed down over the years, so for my Girlfriend's Dad's Birthday we decided to add a new twist to it, and so the Lazy Red Cat Brand Blueberry Gin was born!

We made it a few months ago and while it matured I made this label for it...

This is the finished bottle, ready for shipping...
