Fiora Cavazza Bust.

Hello again loyal viewers!

Recently have been working on a new Fiora model which I hope should mix all of my previous model ideas and actually make a working action figure... I am doing this by customising an actual action figure from Battlestar Galactica that I found the other day.

So far I have been chiseling away and cutting the figure into shape and then later I plan to add Sculpey bits such as the face, belts, bags etc...

Sadly though I have had to put it on hold thanks to accidentally chiseling my finger...

So.

In the meantime I thought I'd finish off my old Fiora model as it is made of lovely safe reliable clay, no knives needed...

For those of you who may have forgotten it, I am talking about this one;

Sadly, as some of you may remember, the legs, arms, skirt and face were badly damaged when I moved house, so I thought I'd make a bust instead... sort of like the image above...

So, here's Fiora Cavazza...

And here's my finished bust:

I am aware that the face is monumentally huge and that there's alot wrong about it, but I'm relatively happy with it overall...

I'm pretty certain I can do better though...

When my finger is unchiseled I'll carry on with the new model and keep you all posted!

In the meantime, here are some nifty links to this model and other related posts...

Ultra secret project...

Well, not really...

My sister is getting married soon, so for the occasion I am making her a personalised cake topper!

I am trying out two ways of doing this;

1. Clay.

2. Paper.

As the clay one is actually wearing the dress I am not posting it here' til after the wedding (groom can't see the bride), but as the paper one is only a test I can show that here!

So, here it is:

It's a tad bit different to the ones I usually make, but I wanted to make a slightly more human-shaped model rather than my little Gevaudanians!

What the final piece will be in unclear at this time, but for now I'm rather enjoying making paper people again...

MAKE-a-ME activity day at Hobbycraft.

Welcome to all new visitors and welcome back to any regular viewers here!

To anyone who has come here after their visit to Hobbycraft today I have added a nifty link to the MAKE-a-ME sheets at the end of this post, plus there is the instruction sheet there too!

So, today went rather well, it wasn't massively busy but Gevaudan presented itself rather nicely, what's more we had a few people who joined in and made a MAKE-a-ME!

My day was primarily spent making my own me and then making Desmond from Assassin's Creed (game) and then attempting to make a blue version of the Beast of Gevaudan... as it has been a while since making La Bete I appear to have gotten a little rusty and forgot to print out the back of his tongue... so he is not complete...

Anyhou, here are the fruits of my labour;

If you would like to make a MAKE-a-ME just click the link below, print it out on at least 100 gram paper (preferably 200 gram) and then follow the instructions!

Hobbycraft and I would love to see your MAKE-a-ME's, so post an image in the comments or send me an email and I'll pass it on to Hobbycraft and post your amazing creations here too!

If you would like custom models made (like a photo-real Gevaudanian or a dragon) just give me an email or post a comment below and I'll see what I can do!

MAKE-a-ME instructions...

Sure enough instructions were requsted, so here they are!

Any questions feel free to ask!

And then suddently, dinosaurs!

As I said in my last post, I have been doodling a bit...

And as I said in my post before that, I planned to do an image for the Illustration Friday "Carry" challenge...

Well, here's a sketch of what I was going to enter...

This one was done at work in my new (awesome) notepad. Despite the fact that the pen died after about 2 days... possibly from over use... anyhou, moving on.

These two were done at home, the idea is basically just a T-Rex as a Bellhop/ Baggage Carrier...

I hope to finish him at some point, but until then you can look at these images and imagine what it might look like...

But it prabably won't look like that.

MAKE-a-ME

Hello there Blog... viewers...

I haven't been doing masses in terms of illustration the past few weeks... other than dinosaur doodles in my work notebook, which I may post at some point...

But for the time being, I am doing a paper model demo in Hobbycraft in Maidstone tomorrow, so for the occasion I have modified my Gevaudan characters so that they can be doodled on and put together by humans with average sized hands, rather than spiders using dentists tools!

And so, may I present:

MAKE-a-ME

I will have Gevaudan with me (as long as the weather is good) and I'll be making some of these guys and having the public join in!

These edited models are actually taller than most of the buildings in Gevaudan, so that might make some amusing images... "Hulk smash" comes to mind...

If you're in Maidstone feel free to join in, if not then feel free to print out a MAKE-a-ME sheet and try it out for yourself!

If you're really bored post your masterpiece in a comment under this post!

Notes on how to build:

The top of the female legs are the hips, which bend inwards.

All white bits are flaps.

The arms just glue on about the height of the shoulders.

Cut down along the longest rectangle to the tip of the triange flap, (face/ head) NOT the diagonal lines.

If these tips are useless please feel free to tell me and I'll think about actually marking it all up (stick "a" to "a" etc.) and adding instructions!

I'll keep you posted on how it turns out!

Chaos theory...

I am currently in the process of moving house, or flat to be more precise, so for now I have had to put several mini projects on hold...

My Fiora Cavazza model was badly damaged in the move, so has been stored away for now, and I sadly missed this weeks Illustration Friday topic of "Carry"...

However!

I do still plan to do my "Carry" image as well as continuing to Friday... just not right now as most of my belongings aren't fully unpacked...

As a final bout of sad news it would appear that Gevaudan may soon be no more... after living in darkness for a full year I don't have space for it in my new flat, so it may have to be put to rest... I plan to take lots of pictures and possibly a video before letting it go.

So for now, enjoy my old post and I will be posting more in the near future!
